Perhaps a better quote would be:

"The harder I work, the luckier I am"

Something good was going to happen to these CEO's because they were constantly poised for success. Very good examples - excellent blog!!!

I speculate I could have done a better job of pointing out that this post was not about working harder.
The post is about consciously making moves now to set yourself up to potentially be "lucky" later. I am sure there are many many CEOs that can outwork these "lucky" CEOs so it is not about outworking everybody else or working hard. The only thing working hard guarantees is getting tired.
