Interesting post Jeff. There does seem to be many similarities of a good business organization and a well run religious organization. Although most popular religions today have had 1000's of years head start, it seems some companies like Apple, American Idol, etc. have more "followers" than some of the big religious organizations. I believe Guy Kawasaki once had the title of Chief Evangelist at Apple. And then there are those Mega Churches that worship Sundays in churches as big some of today's major sport Arenas or is it the sport stadiums on Sunday where the the real religious worshiping is going on today?

Thanks for the comment Marsh, you touch on another important aspect of religion that I did not cover which is the importance of affiliation or a sense of belonging. Also true,as you mention, of sports teams and certain businesses like Apple.
